With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Olga Melnychuk-Magee, a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Ilona. Only a few years ago, the family tragically lost Olga’s son and Ilona’s brother, Mark, and just six months ago, they also suffered the devastating loss of Olga’s mother. These heartbreaking losses deeply affected the family and all those close to them.

Olga was a deeply cherished member of the Mayo community, remembered for her gentle heart, kindness, and the warmth she shared so freely with others. As a teacher at Castlebar Primary School, she cared for children with extraordinary dedication, compassion, and love, leaving a lasting mark on many families. She was also a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, where her research project was published, a reflection of her intelligence, dedication, and lifelong love of learning.

Those who knew Olga will remember her beautiful smile, her gentle nature, and her deeply caring soul. She gave so much of herself to others through her voluntary work with Chornobyl children, her support for fellow Ukrainians, and her open heart to anyone in need. She was the kind of person who quietly brought goodness into the lives of others, never asking for anything in return.

Olga gave so much love, care, and compassion throughout her life. Now, in this time of immense sorrow, we are asking for help to give something back and to support her family with funeral costs during this devastating time.
