Dominica Hurricane Maria Relief

As many of you know, on September 18, 2017 Hurricane Maria struck my homeland, Dominica. The category 5 hurricane showed absolutely no mercy to the island, causing widespread damage in every community. It killed at least 30 people, with several still missing, either washed away or buried under debris.
The extent of the destruction is staggering – nearly every home was savagely hit, leaving countless families with young children homeless and in dire need of food and water. The roof of the main hospital was torn away, the ICU is completely destroyed and patient care has been compromised. The pictures and videos of the damage is heartbreaking and my little homeland is unrecognizable.
Several members of my family reside in Dominica, including my one and only sibling, my brother Nigel, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. We have heard second-hand that most of them are physically ok but are still waiting for confirmation that everyone is ok. 90% of their homes have significant damage and the entire island in now in desperate need to food, water and supplies.
I have been incredibly touched by many of you who have reach out to me to inquire about my family and have asked how you can help. I am helping to raise funds to work with the organization Boston for Dominica Hurricane Relief Fund. No donation is too small, every contribution counts. 100% of what is collected will go directly to the victims in Dominica. Thank you, and I appreciate your thoughts, prayers and generosity.
It will take time, but I am faithful that my beautiful island will one day be restored to being the gorgeous nature island of the Caribbean.
