"CHASING BOB"
This journey started on December 6TH, 2017, when I got diagnosed with stage 3 Adenocarcinoma lung cancer. I know this road will be long with hills to climb, and prayerful not too many valleys. I take one day at a time, and lean on my beautiful Lord in every way. Jesus is my love, my peace, and my saving grace. He has opened doors that only He could, and shut doors where they needed to be closed. I've seen His touch in every area. I have the best case worker, BJ, who has come to my rescue on many occasions. She is a Godsend for sure, and loves to get the job done...and she does.
I also have an incredible support team, who has come to my aid beyond anything I've ever seen. And I thank them with my open heart everyday. And their actions always bring tears to my eyes. Never BOB. Yes, we have named my cancer BOB...didn't want to use the "C" word to give it any power. Because I believe "we" are in control and have the power of God. I'm taking on BOB like I approach a marathon. It all starts with the training, so training has begun. Taking the best care of myself; eating well, hydrating, trying to get the best sleep possible, and listening to my body. Unfortunately it's already complaining with the meds I need to take. You take one pill, and it leads to 10 other problems. But I'm dealing with that the best I can. I'm fighting the good fight.
There has been a new development that came up a few days ago. After taking an MRI of my brain, they found four tumors. So my treatment has changed. We are starting with radiation first to remove the tumors, then moving on to chemo. I will be on chemo for five months, and praying now that it won't kill my spirit. I appreciate your prayers too.
So, that's the short story of "CHASING BOB."
I know so many that want to help: Asking what can I do? What do you need? How can I help? So, if you find that you are one...I thought this would be a good fit. The bills are coming in, but I'm not overwhelmed, YET.
