Diabetic Alert Dog for James

I met Shari, James's Mom, a few months ago in the Coffee Shop that she manages. Every morning she is there to great me and all the other loyal customers that have come to know her. We've exchanged numerous stories about our children, but I never new of the pain that hides inside her. As a Father of a 9 year old girl, it hurt me to read the story of an 8 year old boy suffering with Type 1 diabetes.  Unexpectedly, my heart sunkwhen I read the very last line of the letter and it said, "Love Mommy, Shari :)"
     Shari somehow manages to smile and be happy for everyone, every morning. Let's get together and do something that will help to James, Shari, and their family smile more often.
      The family desperately needs their Diabetic Alert Dog named, "Roman."  This highly trained Service Dog from Debby Kay is trained to sense blood sugar levels and will retrieve James's meter, juice, snack, and even wake him and his parents in the middle of the night to prevent a diabetic seizure.  Most importantly, this dog will give James the opportunity to function as a normal 8 year old boy.
     Any donation will help tremendously.

We are hosting a fundraiser on June 7th @ 1 pm at The Blue Fish Grill on Mine Street in Flemington, NJ, courtesy of The Paint Party Studio on Main Street in Flemington! Tickets are $45 a person, which includes painting, food/refreshments, and a silent auction with lots of cool local gifts! James and his family went out to West Virginia several weeks ago to meet Roman for the first time. They're like a match made in heaven! Let's help James to bring him home to New Jersey this summer!
