Graduation Trip for Devon

As many of you know, Devon is graduating from Eldorado High School in May of this year.  We are so proud of him and are excited that he will be attending the University of New Mexico in the fall.  Moving out, living in the dorms and finally testing out his independence will be an adventure in itself; however, we would like to provide him with a different kind of adventure as a thank you for being such a wonderful son, grandson, nephew, cousin, brother and friend.  

This summer, after graduation but before college, we are sending Devon to Seville, Spain for an 8 week Spanish immersion program. The cost of the course includes room/board and 20 classes a week for a pretty intensive immersion! We hope Devon will use the opportunity to not only become fluent in Spanish but also to travel around and experience the world beyond his home.  Devon's Auntie Chandel has been trying for years to push for such an opportunity for Devon so he can gain some of the insight, experience and appreciation for the world that she was able to in her years of traveling. His excitement at the prospect is evidence enough for us that this is the perfect graduation present!

We have created this site to assist any friends and family who would like to contribute to this trip as a graduation present.    Please do not feel any obligation to donate! A card congratulating Devon on meeting this milestone is equally as sweet and appreciated as any graduation present. The goal amount indicated is only an estimate and is only there because the site required we identify one in order to use their services!

Just prior to his trip, we will be creating a separate Facebook account for Devon to use while he is away so he can keep us all updated with blogs, pictures and commentary on his experiences.
