Dear Family and Friends,
I am excited to announce that I have been selected to play on an international baseball team. Coach Peter Caliendo, of Caliendo Sports International, has asked me to be a member of his team in Japan the first week of August. The team will be competing against teams from all over the Tokyo area. We will also be touring these areas, training with the Japan youth league, and learning the inner workings of competitive athletes. I am honored to have made the team and thrilled to have been offered such an outstanding cultural experience.
The Caliendo Sports International team will provide an outstanding coaching and administrative staff and ensure that the players take full advantage of this "once in a lifetime" opportunity. It will be the first time a team has trained along side the baseball team of Japan. Overall, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to experience international baseball competition along with the cultural experience and I am asking for your help.
Your donations will help me to raise the team funds per player of $4000(Covers just the tuition/room and board) plus additional expenses (Airline Tickets) and other expenses needed while in Japan (Total needed for me to go is around $7000. Anything you can afford to donate would be of great help in having me accomplish my baseball dream and obtain a phenomenal cultural experience. All funds raised above and beyond the amount needed to get me to Japan will be donated to JDRF to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. I will also be trading sponsorship for time and will be spending my time at Dell Children's Hospital giving back to the community and the hospital responsible for my health. While there, I will wear a creatively designed shirt (that he designed) showcasing all the generous sponsors for the Japan baseball trip (Destination Japan "“ as I'm calling it). The same shirt will be worn by teammates (here and afar), family and friends as we travel across the world to share the love of baseball.
