Desmen's Beating Cancer fund

One year ago on August 17, Desmen was diagnosed with testicular cancer, undergoing surgery on August 21, to have it removed. After removal, Desmen had to have check-ups every 3 months involving CT scans and blood-work. In March 2018, Desmen went in for what would have been his last 3, month check-up before moving to 6, when his doctor told him his lymph nodes were swollen to the size of 1cm and he wanted to take precautions and have him back in 4 months for his next check-up. Desmen went in for his CT scan on July 25, 2018 and was informed by the oncologist that the lymph nodes were enlarged to 2cm and sent him to get a PET scan on July 30.  On August 1st, the oncologist said that Desmen had 4 spots of cancer. He has 2 cancerous lymph nodes in front of his abdomen, 1 cancerous spot in front of his lungs and 1 cancerous spot on his lung. The treatment he is required is 3 5-day cycles of chemo with 2 weeks of rest in between each cycle. After the chemo cycles are completed, he will under go another CT scan and Pet Scan to see if the chemo worked. He is currently scheduled to have surgery to have a port put into his chest on August 27th and to begin chemo on September 10th. Desmen currently works as a Mud Engineer in West Texas for Buckeye Inc. and will have to take 3 months off of work to do chemo. Insurance only covers so much, and with CT scans costing $4,000 and PET scans costing $10,000, it makes it difficult for Desmen to pay these medical bills due to being unable to work.
