For those of you who knew Derek, to say he was the life of any party is putting it mildly. He was passionate about so many things. Just watching his enthusiasm for sports exhausted me.
I was privileged enough to have him in my life for 33 years. I know many of you feel the exact same way.
Derek’s 34th Birthday is March 16th. To celebrate that day, I wanted to give to a purpose he truly and deeply cared about. His passion for sports started at Detroit Catholic Central. Many of his dear friendships also started there. For that reason, my family started The Derek Gluth '02 Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund will allow another young man to attend Catholic Central and experience the botherhood that Derek did.
As St. Patrick’s Day is closely followed by his birthday please consider “buying Derek a drink,” and donate to his Scholarship fund.
Derek was never one to pass up an occasion to celebrate life, so today I ask you to take a moment and celebrate his life.
I know we all miss him everyday.
