Prestholt Family Medical Fund

Derek Prestholt is currently in the hospital in Mason City, Iowa.  He has been battling what he thought was bronchitis for almost two months. Doctors found his heart very enlarged and blood pressure is running 176/142. He has fluid around his heart. An echocardiogram showed his heart is functioning at 20%. It also showed apart of it is not functioning at all.   Three of his arteries are blocked.   He needs a cardiac cath, but his kidneys are not doing well now so the dye could damage the kidneys further.

Derek has been stressing and not wanting to see the doctor because his insurance doesn't kick in until January (he started a new job).  His wife, Dawn, finally convinced him to go to the ER and now they know things are serious. 

Derek and Dawn’s son, Drew, also has has serious heart problems and this family has spent way too much time in the hospital battling these health issues.   I’d like them to focus on healing, health and wellness and try to remove financial burderns that may arise from their situation.
