Dennis (Monty) McClure

It seems like only a few years ago, my husband's brother was a healthy business man.  Always generous and kind with a great sense of humor, Dennis (many of you senior softball players may know him as Monty, #44) was a great son, dad, husband, brother, papa and friend.  He is a younger brother to Ray (Raymond) McClure and Jackie Tracy.

Then, in his mid 50's dementia began creeping into his life.  First it was a little memory loss, which grew into confusion.  Not only was Dennis diagnosed with progressive frontal lobe dementia, but he also has aphasia.  He began to struggle saying what was on his mind.  His words became staggered and slow.  After what seems like such a short time he totally lost his ability to communicate verbally.

Unfortunately he could no longer contribute to his family's income.  His wife began working in retail with long hours and stressful quotas to meet.

Now, Dennis (Monty) is 65.  His wife, Vickie, constantly has the weight of this drastic life-change on her mind every second of every day.  Since he can't stay alone for even a minute and she can't find a place that will keep him - she has the added responsibility of asking family members to watch him while she works anywhere from 40 - 60 hours a week.

She needs financial assistance badly.  She needs to have professionals help with his personal needs, or be able to cut back on her own hours so she can be with him more.

Vickie's love and dedication to Dennis (Monty) is so evident in everything she does for him.

If this "pulls on your heart," I beg you to contribute what you can, as soon as you can.

Dennis is otherwise healthy and may live for many years.  There is no medical cure for his condition - which is a heartbreak for all of us.

My heart's desire is that money be available for her on an ongoing basis - but right now, any help will be a blessing.

Thank you so much -
A Caring Sister-In-Law...Susie
