My wife has Multiple Sclerosis. All proceeds are for my wifes treatment.
It all started in 2011. When one day she complained about back pain & the next day she couldn't move half her body very well. Went to the Cleveland Clinic & they said they did not know why she had lost mobility on her side & thought it might be temporary & sent us home. A week later at the end of the day she started slurring her words. I suggested we go to the hospital fearing a stroke, she refused & said she'd like to sleep it off. The next morning she had lost movement on the other side of her body & was very weak. I gathered her up & went to the emergency room. They spent days trying to figure out what was wrong with her as her mobility & speech worsened.
Finally a Doctor determined she had lesions on her brain & Marburg multiple sclerosis. They treated with steroids & said she would be a invalid for the rest of her life. They sent her to a nursing home where no one understood her & no one cared. She spent days confiding in me, the only one who could hear her. How they let her lay in her own waste & starved her.
So I stole her from the nursing home & took her home. Where I have managed a new normal for 6 years. Til last week. I took my vacation late this year & second day into my vacation she has had a relapse & only has the ability to stand now. Not having health insurance because I make 40,000 a years & I'm to rich to get any assistance & my wife running a dog rescue for 10 years & not paying into Social Security meant she was not entitled to any Federal assistance.
I'm horrible with stories & probably did not put up enough info. The long story short is she will be going back to the cleveland clinic & I'm doubtful they will do anything to help & hope stem cell treatment may at least give back some mobility to carry on our normal.
