Denise Sheaks Burke's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Denise was diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Synovial Sarcoma in her foot. This unexpected diagnosis has turned her life upside down, and she will be starting several rounds of intensive chemotherapy by the end of July.  Her chemotherapy will consist of five days of in patient treatment hooked up to chemo for 6 hours each day. She will then have a 3 week break to get strong again before her next five day round.  The doctors are recommending an amputation below her knee after her chemotherapy treatments.  While getting chemo she will start physical therapy to learn how to use crutches, so she will be strong in those skills after the amputation.  After the amputation, she will receive additional physical therapy to get use to balancing and walking on a prosthetic.

Denise is a single mother of three children: Garret, Taylor and Austin. She will take a leave of absence from her job, which will mean no income while undergoing treatments. Additionally, she will likely have many unforeseen expenses.

Please support Denise who has given so much of her time to so many young girls and adults in the community.
