Dena Kingcade

For the past three years, I have had the privilege of dating Bret Kingcade and spending time with his family.  His mother, Dena, has meant so much to me.  She is such a caring, selfless person who makes everyone in the room feel like they are special.  In August, Dena was diagnosed with cancer.  After months of courageous fighting, her battle is coming to an end.  I wanted to take the opportunity to show Dena the impact that she has made in my life and the lives of everyone she has touched.  
My final gift for her is a donation in her name to Operation Breakthrough.  Operation Breakthrough is an organization that was started by Sister Corita Bussanmas and Sister Berta Sailer in 1971.  It is located in the heart of Kansas City and focuses on helping children and their families.  More information about the organization can be found on their website.  I chose this organization because the Kingcade family has been very active with Operation Breakthrough for years, especially in the Christmas season. My goal is to raise $500 to pay for a field trip where 50 children will be able to attend a museum or theater performance.
