Help us Eliminate Lunch Balances

Transforming Faith Church, led by Pastor Lee & Robin May, would love for YOU to join US as we have set a HUGE GOAL...We want to raise funds to pay off the negative lunch balances for DeKalb County Elementary Schools.
We want our children to be able to focus on learning without wondering about what they will eat for lunch. When a child's lunch balance is overdrawn, in most cases that child will not have the option to choose from the main lunch menu, but will have to eat a different meal (for some schools it's a grilled cheese sandwich, for others it may be a peanut butter sandwich). Imagine the possible embarrassment for that child whose classmates are aware that they do not have money on their lunch account. This is not an issue of blame for the school system...it's a reality in all districts, in all cities/counties. Schools do offer free and reduced lunch...the reality however is that there are many families who do not qualify for the reduction but at times may still struggle financially to meet this basic need.
We are aware that this will not solve all issues for the child, but it is a start! We also understand that there are a myriad of reasons why a child's lunch balance may be negative, but the CHILD should not have to deal with the ramfications, regardless of the reason.
How great would it be for students to start off the year with a ZERO balance!
The negative balance (at the point of our most recent inquiry) for the elementary schools in DeKalb County totals approximately $26,000*. On Monday, December 11th, Transforming Faith Church, paid off the negative balances for 4 of the elementary schools in our area. We would love for YOU to partner with US in knocking out the TOTAL balance of ALL of the elementary schools in DeKalb.

* All funds will go directly to Dekalb County Schools, specifically for the negative lunch balances. We will follow the same procedure that was used when TFC paid off the lunch balances for 4 of the schools. This requires a special form that specifies the funds for negative lunch balances.
