The San Antonio Rock and Roll is just around the corner and we are at it again!!!
Last year we dedicated our first half marathon to David's treatments and thanks to you all, we raised almost $10,000 . We hope to keep the momentum going for this year's race(pun intended) and reach our $25,000 goal for David's chemotherapy.
David's Story: After taking an acne medication in his senior year of high school, David has had it rough. Rougher than most. One week after that medication he went into complete renal (kidney) failure. He went from 200 pounds to 150 in a month. He needed a lot of doctor support to keep him functioning and we almost lost him. At a time in your life when you are just figuring things out David was going through years of treatment, needles, surgeries, medications, and anxiety. He finally received a much needed kidney donation in 2013.
David has been in and out of the hospital ever since, but experienced renal failure and a host of new problems last August . Unable to keep food down, dehydrated and with extreme pain in his abdomen he was diagnosed with Micro Polyangiitis Disease. This disease requires regular chemotherapy treatments to keep it in remission.
Donations will go towards medical bills and chemotherapy sessions for David Gonzalez.
This is life saving treatment.
5% of the total donations received this year will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on January 1st, 2020.
