Get Deanna Diagnosed

Donation protected
Deanna Sellers is a single mom of three children (two of whom are Autistic), who is actively involved in the Autism community. She, herself, is suffering from Progressive Neurological Deficits and recurring Transient Ischemic Attacks (Mini-strokes). These are only umbrella diagnosis's, so her journey to a true diagnosis has only just begun. Deanna is in urgent need of your help to raise the necessary funds to get her treatment and full diagnosis so that she can continue her life and take care of her children.

THIS IS HER STORY. . .

On July 11th, 2013, Deanna experienced a Transient Ischemic Attack and was taken to the Emergency Room at South Lake Hospital by her mom. she was admitted to PCU, where she stayed for 5 days, experiencing multiple TIA's while there. Her left side was numb (seemingly a gift in her mind, since for the last year she had experienced chronic neck pain from two ruptured discs and Cervical Spinal Stenosis), but after two days the numbness subsided and she left with severe weakness in her left arm and leg, as well as severe pain like pins and needles shooting down her arm and leg. She was given a walker and started Physical Therapy to evaluate her walking. They told her the she would more than likely need inpatient rehabilitation after her stay at the hospital.

Because of the new healthcare laws, despite every doctor telling her that she needed to be in an inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital or have a 24/7 home health nurse, they sent her home (after a nearly two week hospital stay).

They couldn't find the cause of her TIA's,
One of her doctors at the hospital suggested the possibility of Multiple Sclerosis, or maybe some other  Neurological Disorder that would take more testing and time to diagnose, so her journey has just begun. However, Without health insurance or the ability to obtain Medicaid, there is no further testing or diagnosis: at least not without the money to pay for it upfront. There is also no home health nurse, or Physical Therapy, or Occupational Therapy. But you can help! Thank you for your support!
