Our dad is not only a dad but he's a son, husband, Grandfather,Uncle and friend. He is the glue to our entire family. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer the 2nd week of October. This was devasting not only to him but to the entire family.
Our dad wanted the american dream. He wanted a home, healthy family, his own business and a nest egg for retirement. For a few years it looked like he was well on his way to accomplishing that dream. Although he and our stepmom was the only company employees, he did get his own company up and running.
In 2003 our stepmom was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's lymphoma, which was a major setback. He was a great supporter and spirit lifter, because of this she beat this terrible disease and is now in remission. Many days were missed of work to bring her to and from the doctors,chemo and radiation treatments had to be paid. The savings they had built had now been depleted.
Currently, our dad is the sole supporter of his household. He has already missed numerous days of work and has begun the intial stages of treatment. The Doctors and Hospitals that are providing his treatment are 60 miles from his hometown. He will need to have several more tests and will have surgery on November 7, 2012, all of which will incur bills that will need to be paid. In addition to these treatment charges the monthly insurance premium and his household bills will need to be paid. After his surgery he will require six - eight weeks of recovery and will not be able to work at this time.
SO WE ARE ASKING FOR HELP AND SUPPORT TO ALLOW HIM TO FOCUS ON BEATING STAGE 3 COLON CANCER AND NOT HAVING TO WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT THE REST.
