Dave Green Memorial Fund
Last week our friend Dave finally lost his fight against lung cancer. He was 74 years old and unfortunately he passed away without any funds to pay for his funeral.
As Dave has no family or money he faces a pauper's funeral.
Until his cancer Dave was an active member of the community often seen walking on the common. He was an active campaigner and valued member of the United Valleys Action Group. Dave campaigned tirelessly to stop the proposed opencast mine in Rhymney.
Even in the late stages of his caner he would attend meetings and protest marches. His death is a great loss to our community and the thought that such a man’s passing will be marked by only a pauper's funeral is tragic in itself.
I on behalf of the United Valleys Action Group ask you to please dig deep and give Dave the send off he deserves.
Dave had no family and we would like the community both local and nationally to let him know that he will not be forgotten.
To all our friends campaigning far and wide. please help us pay our respects to someone who fought for our cause so hard until his death.
