Hi, My name is Kirsten. In 2007 I met a wonderful couple, Dave & Heather. They have become like family to me and there isn't a thing in the world that I wouldn't do for them. They are the most caring and genuine people I know. When I first met them I had no idea what kind of hardships they had gone through trying to have children. I would LOVE to give them an opportunity to know what it feels like to hold their baby for the first time, hear that child call them mommy and daddy, and watch every milestone that comes along with having a baby. I'm posting this in hopes of helping them achieve their dreams and having a family of their own.
Their journey to have children began almost 10 years ago. It has been a difficult journey in so many ways; physically, emotionally and financially. Fertility treatments and procedures are not covered by insurance so almost everything must be paid for directly. Only certain tests and procedures can be billed as diagnostic and are then covered.
After several years of trying to have a baby "the old fashioned way" they saw a local fertility specialist. After completing initial testing they proceeded with several IUI procedures. The 3rd procedure was a success and they were told they were pregnant.
7 weeks into the pregnancy Heather suffered a miscarriage.
A few months later they began the IUI procedures again but with no success. Heartbroken and thousands of dollars in debt they decided to take a break from the process.
A couple years later they decided they were ready to begin treatments again. However Heather was laid off from her job, 6months later Dave was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. Their primary focus then became focusing on Dave's recovery and medical bills.
They are now working with a new fertility specialist and IVF has been recommended as the best solution. This procedure, along with the necessary medications will cost $10,000.
Please help me in raising money for this family of mine. There is no greater feeling than to love a child. Having this money would help them have "A Postive Preconception."
