Dan Stuevens medical fund

Dan (Danny) Stueven is only 37 years old and must relearn how to walk. Danny recently suffered an undiagnosed fracture to his leg.   Do to the expense of private healthcare he had no insurance at the time of his injury, which left the fracture undiagnosed and untreated.  Tragically the untreated fracture resulted in a MRSA infection. MRSA is a strain of staph infection that is the most difficult to treat due to its resistance to antibiotics.  After going in to the hospital it was determined that his left leg needed to be amputated in order to save his life.  

Danny grew up in beautiful Lake Tahoe where he spent much of his life snow skiing, water skiing, snow boarding and enjoying the outdoors with his dogs.  Today, though thankful to be alive, Dan is faced with the challenge of moving on with his new life with only one leg, Dan spent most of his adult life in the service and hospitality industry.  Once he heals and recovers he will be faced with huge medical expenses.  Along with many expenses to accommodate his current condition (ramps, accessibility, a prostetic leg etc)  he will also be faced with paying for the hospital stay, his multiple surgeries, medication and physical therapy as well as daily living expenses.  Unable to work at this time the expenses are quickly adding up.

Dan has a positive and optomistic outlook on his future and is grateful to still be alive and surrounded by such a supportive and loving group of friends and family. Danny is a very proud and loving young man with a heart of gold.  His smile still lights up the room and his infectious laugh and sense of humor is getting him through these difficult days when its been increasingly harder to find a reason to smile.
