Danny's Journey with Colon Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Mandi. This page was created to help my best friend, Destiny and her husband Danny as they battle yet another setback in their lives. Here is a recap of who we are helping. Danny and Destiny met in 2006, quickly became friends and that friendship turned into an amazing relationship. He has a daughter, Faith, from his previous marriage who Destiny loves and adores. They got married on June 13, 2009.
Just FIVE days after their wedding Danny was diagnosed with stage 3b colon cancer. He had surgery as soon as they could get him in and the cancer hadn't spread to any other organs. Chemo and radiation were a must and were scheduled. From previous conversations they had already decided they wanted to have children together in the future but that wasn't as easy as they had expected, the radiation would kill any chance of a baby for at least two years, maybe forever. So they had to preserve their chances before treatment of any kind could start. Danny had surgery to remove the tumor in his colon and was considered cancer free on June 24th 2009. Fast forward to 2012 when Destiny created a blog (http://babyfund2012.blogspot.com/) to help raise awareness to colon cancer, infertility Awareness and hopefully help fund their IVF journey. They were able to raise funds to start the IVF process and become pregnant with twins. At 8 weeks gestation they were told that one of the babies didn't make it. They took this in stride and instead of dwelling on what they lost they were still excited for their future child. July 17th 2013 at 11:50am they welcomed a beautiful baby girl, Ryssa Hope Crabb into their lives and family.

On October 8th, after a hospital stay with abdominal pain and a ct scan showing a funky spot Danny's biopsy came back. Positive for liver cancer. A pet scan was scheduled October 16 with results to follow on October 21st 2013. The results were not exactly what they were expecting. They were told that the scan showed recurrence of Colon Cancer NOT liver cancer like previously told. Due to the nature of the recurrence they will need to go to MD Anderson in Houston, TX (a 9.5 hour drive 1 way) ASAP! This is where we come in.... In order to get to Houston they will need to have funds to pay for lodging, food, gas and will need help with finances at home since they will not be working while away. We are starting to get fundraisers in the works so if you have something you think could help us raise funds faster PLEASE e-mail me at the contact link above. I will be setting up and coordinating all fundraisers. (This is one less thing that Destiny does not need to worry or stress about right now). Thank you all for your donations, help, idea's, etc. Your generosity is very much appreciated.
