Moldova Mission Trip Summer 2017

Can you
envision a trip to a country that is fighting to keep the "old"
Communist ways. A place where the border guards carry AK-47's, it is illegal to
bring in bibles and that they have their security people (like the old KGB)
monitor your actions and communications. I want to share with you a challenging
ministry opportunity God has presented to me. From December 27, 2013 - January
06, 2014, I will be going to Transnistria (a breakaway territory located mostly
on a strip of land between the River Dniester and the eastern Moldovan border
with Ukraine). This is a big opportunity to get into an orphanage and share God's love.
Here's a little more detail:
- First, we will be providing new beds, mattresses, linens and pillows for orphans at the orphanage we are visiting. Most of the beds in this orphanage are 50 plus years old and will sage to the ground when you sit on them.

- Second, we will work on developing relations with the orphans and the staff of the orphanage. Since we are not "allowed" to openly teach about Jesus through bible studies, we will work on talking about Jesus through sporting programs, arts and crafts, and the building of the beds.
James 1:27 tells us that we are to look after orphans and widows. God has laid it on my heart that orphans are where I should focus my attention. I'm excited about this opportunity and experience. Although I have been to Moldova (on three different mission trips), this could be the most dangerous and most rewarding trip yet. I hope you see the value in what we will accomplish. As you can imagine, a trip like this requires financial support from a number of people. In order to go on this mission trip I need to raise ($4500) by the middle of November. If you can support me in a financial way, I would be very grateful.And, most importantly, I also need your prayer support. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in our ministry in Transnistria. Without prayer, little, or nothing will happen.
There are several ways that you can donate. First of all, you can donate through this site (donating through this website is not tax deductible). If mailing a check, it is important that you make your check payable to (Lake Tyler Baptist Church and put Dan McBride Mission Trip in the memo line).
If you know of a church or civic group that may be interested in helping bring God and new beds to these orphans, I will happy to come and speak to them.
