Danielle: Donations and Determination

Danielle was diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma on April 22, 2014. The tumor is at the base of her skull and has grown to the base of her brain. She is 29 years old with two young children and has quite the fight on her hands. The tumor has grown around her carotid artery, the main artery that feeds blood to the left side of the brain. The tumor cannot be completely removed due to its high-risk placement; however, Danielle will be having surgery in the near future to remove part of the tumor away from her brain. Although chemo and radiation are looked upon as life-saving therapies, radiation has a high chance of ruining her pituitary gland, damaging parts of her brain, as well as taking the vision in her left eye. By having the surgery prior to radiation, the likelihood of these adverse effects is decreased dramatically. After surgery, she must move to Oklahoma City for 6-9 weeks in order to undergo chemo and radiation therapy.

On top of medical expenses, all travel expenses including fuel, food, and a place to stay for the duration of treatment in Oklahoma City will be out of pocket for her. Please join us in support of Danielle and her family as she starts this journey and the fight of her life.
