Daniel Ryder. Dan the Man. Son, Brother, Uncle, Husband, Father, Friend, Neighbor....a musician, a teddy bear, a business man, a leader, a talker, a believer...

Dan had put on a movie for his family on Saturday night, July 26, 2014. He went onto the back patio to take a phone call and before they knew it the movie was over and he hadn't come back inside. Deana went to check on him and found Dan slumped over in a chair, covered in vomit. She was a little shocked and uncertain what had happened to him so she tried to wake him, yet when a spray with the hose produced no movement she knew something was wrong. The ambulance arrived but drove to the hospital in no hurry, with no sirens or lights on. Soon after arriving to the first hospital they'd realized his condition was worse than they'd assumed and life-flighted him to St. Joseph's in Phoenix where he has been since early Sunday, July 27th 2014. Dan is being treated for a brain aneurysm which burst near his brain stem. Since the initial rupture, Dan has been in a coma, underwent surgery, suffered a minor stroke, battled pneumonia, experienced vasospasms, and has daily battles with unstable vitals (high blood pressure, low heart rate, low oxygen count, high intercranial pressures and fevers). Through all this - he IS alive and he HAS shown signs of life! The doctors report that the care he's currently under and the care he'll need afterwards may potentially require a long process towards recovery.

As you can imagine, this long process comes with incredible medical and personal expenses. Dan was the breadwinner for the family, and although Deana and Morgan both work - it is not enough to cover their family and the pending medical expenses. Dan's paychecks have already ceased and although he was eligible for medical insurance at his new company, their open-enrollment didn't begin until August 1st - just 4 days after his accident. Deana has looked into all medical insurance and disability options, yet has already been notified that they've denied coverage for Dan.

Deana and her girls have already started the process of reducing costs for their family - eliminating cable, reducing cell phones, selling cars, moving homes, eliminating gym memberships, selling household items, and more. We prayerfully ask you to consider coming alongside the Ryder family through donations of ANY amount and we ask that you share the opportunity to give and support this family on your own personal pages, networks, emails, and more. We appreciate your consideration and are humbled by how God has provided thus far and trust in His provision for what we shall face ahead of us.

Thank you,
Deana, Morgan, Lauren, and Camryn Ryder (Dan's girls)
