This is where my efforts for my upcoming volunteer teaching trip to Danang, Vietnam will be focused.

WHY I AM DOING THIS?
Very simply: "Equal access to education for all."
Turning the educated into the educator is one of the most effective ways to promote communal development.
In developing countries like Vietnam, education is the first step towards increasing a person’s socioeconomic mobility and, in turn, enhancing the capabilities of themselves and their communities.
The effects of educating even a single individual can reverberate throughout their entire community as they educate others, better provide for their families and more effectively connect with today’s globalized society.
My goal is to educate and inspire Vietnamese youth during my three-month residence in Da Nang.
WHO WILL BENEFIT?
Ultimately, the youth and future generations of Vietnam.
I'm going to be real with you all – these kids are at a severe disadvantage compared with others in the rest of the world.
According to the Japan External Trade Organization, the average monthly salary of a Vietnamese worker last year was $145 in Hanoi and $148 in Ho Chi Minh City – much lower than those in Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore (all between $239-1,230).
That basically means, that even WITH a college education, these kids won't get very far without learning a second language. If they hope to break free from the shackles of the third world, they must seek employment outside of Vietnam.
Trellis, the NGO I'll be working for and with, aims to provide education to uplift those individuals and their communities.
HOW YOUR GENERGOUS DONATIONS WILL BE USED
To be clear, this is a volunteer program.
That means that all the expenses I accrue, will come out of my own pocket.
Your generous gift(s) will support me with the following:
• Support before, during, and after my arrival in Vietnam
• Flights to and from Vietnam
• International travel and health insurance
• Criminal background check
• Travel vaccinations and immunizations
• Accommodations in volunteer housing
• Training and orientation fees
• Airport pickup and daily transportation
• Cell phone and internet coverage
• Toiletries, daily neccessities and first-world medicine
• Per diem food allowance
HOW SOON THE FUNDS ARE NEEDED?
AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
The quicker I can arrange everything I need in order to survive (and thrive) for three months abroad, the easier the transition will be and the more effectively I can provide my best for my future students.
The starting date of the program is September 1. However, I'll be flying out there about a week prior, in order to acclimate to the new time zone and settle in.
WHAT THIS SUPPORT MEANS TO ME

I'll be honest – I can't do this without your support!
With my goal set to relocate to Tokyo by the end of the year, I just don't have the necessary resources to cover the majority of these expenses.
That's why I'm asking or your help.
Whether you you've known me for a few days, a few years, or practically your entire life – I truly appreciate every bit of support and encouragement!
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT TO ME
If my altruisitc venture in a developing country can inspire others to take action in thier own charity, then I've succeded in what I've set out to do.
I truly believe that no matter what we believe, where we come from, or who we surround ourselves with – WE ALL WANT TO DO GOOD!
If we desire to make the world a better place for future generations, we've gotta’ start at the fundmental level of growth:
