As many will know my 26 year old brother Dan (Daniel Baird) was cruelly taken from us, in a senseless and violent attack on the morning of Saturday 8th July. This has been a shocking and horrific blow to our family and we are all struggling to come to terms with it. In the recent TV interview which was aired to appeal for witnesses, my sister Kerry told just how much Dan loved life. He was looking forward to a bright future with Gemma, his long-term girlfriend of 8 years and he was also excited to be starting his new job at Land Rover just a few days after he was killed. We are at a loss for words and know that the world lost a wonderful person, but God definitely has gained an angel.
We hope that any person who has any knowledge of what happened on that terrible morning, will come forward and help the police track down and arrest the evil callous murderer, who took 'Our Dan The Man' away from us.
Anyone who knows Lynne and Gerry can probably imagine just how much losing their son has devastated their lives as well as the lives of all our family and friends. Quite simply Dan was loved by everybody.
My husband and I have started this gofundme appeal to raise money for Lynne and Gerry to help pay towards Dan's funeral expenses and whatever else is needed or may assist in helping them lessen their stress and financial burdens arising from this horrendous unforeseen tragedy.
We thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy at this sorrowful time. Any amount will be gratefully received and we thank you for your generosity. We know Lynne and Gerry will be very appreciative.
