Dakota's 2nd Hip Surgery

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

We want to thank you for all of your support for Dakota's first hip replacement  surgery.    While it was a long road, she has recovered and her new hip is working great!   Your love and support has been so helpful and appreciated. Unfortunately, Dakota's other hip is still in need of replacement.

Debbie had been saving money for Dakota's second surgery when she came across an even bigger obstacle; her other German Shepherd, namesake of her business and  special "Peanut",  Star,  was diagnosed with Lyme Nephritis.   Despite herculean efforts by Debbie and the doctors at PVSEC, Star was unable to be saved.  The Lyme Nephritis triggered an autoimmune disease in Star that ultimately took her life.  Debbie, Dakota, and Ruger are heartbroken.  All of Debbie's funds and much more were spent on Star and her care.

So many of you have  generously asked how you can suppport,  so we set up another GoFundMe page as an avenue for you to help Dakota get her hip replacement.   The surgery is scheduled for June 13th.   If you can help in honor of Debbie and Dakota and in memory of Star, we would be ever so grateful.

As you may remember, here's Dakota's story:

Dakota was born with hip dysplasia, and she showed no signs until this year. Her hips have always had a clean bill of health at the vet, and they always felt great to ANY vet that checked them. Only recently, Debbie knew that something wasnt right. After long hikes or days at work with mom, Dakota was getting very stiff, even unable to climb stairs at times. Finally, Debbie asked her vet to please take an x-ray of Dakota's hips.

There it was.

How Dakota hasnt been in any pain until now baffled eveyone who saw her x-ray.

As you know, Dakota is a VERY special girl to Debbie and to so many of us. She has helped Debbie help many of you and your puppies overcome the IMPOSSIBLE! As Debbie's close friend and her assistant, I have heard ALL of your stories and of Dakota's triumphs over the years. Dakota is one-of-a-kind. She has overcome more as a dog her first year of life than most of us do in a life time, and she still keeps her head up and lives life like it's meant to be lived -- helping others.

I know that so many of you are so thankful for how Dakota has made a difference in your life in some way.
I am sure so many of Debbie's clients could never repay her for the impact she has had. When so many of you just thought there was no hope for your dog, Debbie and Dakota were there, and not just at appointments. Texting, phone calls, emergencies -- Debbie has been there day and night, every day of the week. She's been there as a dog trainer and even, to a lot of us, as a friend.

Now its our turn to give back to her! Give her many more years with her heart and soul! Give Dakota the opportunity to continue her very important work.

Dakota's 2nd surgery will cost approximately $6,000, and is scheduled for June 13th.    Dakota will need Debbie by her side for  several weeks.    Debbie and Dakota need our help now more than ever! She needs us ALL to come together for her like she has been there for us. Please contribute whatever you can so that these two amazing souls can continue the work of changing lives.
