Prestina Hudson/Prestina Edens DVT

This is a story about a little girl that we love, our baby sister. She just happens to be an adult now, 29 years old. Her full story is below.

The gist of the story is this, she's in near fatal condition from a rare blood-clotting disorder called Leiden Factor V and has a massive DVT that spans from her right foot into her abdomen.  She is suffering from excrutiating pain every day of her life.  She has been given a short life expectancy per doctors, not to make it to 35. In the next three to four years is when they expect Prestina to pass away. But every day she wakes up, takes charge of her household and two young children and does everything she needs to and more. She helps family, she tries to give her kids a normal, happy life and she stays positive all the way through the pain, stress and terror of this situation.

Medically, her options currently are either a medicine that will leave her bedridden that costs $2500/month or the backup plan of a medication that will cost her $456 every two weeks. Though she does have insurance, it is not covering the medicaiton she needs yet. With this alternate medication she should still be able to function enough to get quality of life over quantity.

She needs help with her medication most importantly and also the down payment to keep her house. She is a stubborn, determined woman and does not like asking for help.  That's why I am reaching out in place of her to get her some assistance.

She's stuck in this situation, unable to work due to not being physically capable of performing the simple actions we all must perform during employment, such as sitting/standing for extended periods of time, and attendance due to how often she is in the hospital. She cannot seek medical help elsewhere because no doctors want to touch her. It's "too risky" for them. Everywhere she turns she is hitting red lights.

She has withheld the details of her prognosis from most of her family and friends until now, when she is in dire need. As for the donations that have been made so far, she has graciously accepted them and started working towards better medical treatment but is still a ways away from being able to afford it.

In addition to this, her landlord has put her into a position in which she was not told the house she is living in is going into foreclosure. Tina found out by accident a week before the date. She is able to assume the mortgage but has to provide a down payment she is currently unable to make. We want her to have the opportunity to live comfortably in her home for the rest of her days with her children.

This woman has been battling a blood clotting disorder since she was pregnant with her first child at 16. She almost lost her life trying to save her first born. She became paralyzed from the neck down due to a blood clot. It was a dangerous surgery to drain it but she survived it. She began regaining movement and weeks later was allowed to see her child for the very first time. She began physical therapy and regained all her movement back yet her leg never felt right. The doctors ignored it. She ended up with a clot that spans from her ankle to her abdomen in the main vein in her leg, the Femoral Vein. It was too late to treat once the doctors paid attention. They've put her on the highest dosage of blood thinners allowed, doses only the elderly should be taking.

Please help Tina live out a happier, more secure, peaceful and more hopeful life. Any assistance, including prayer, would be appreciated to the point that words cannot describe.
