Detroit Vegan Soul Employee Relief Fund

#SmallBusinessRelief Detroit Vegan Soul is a local, independently owned 100% plant based restaurant business with two locations in the heart of Detroit neighborhoods. Like so many others, we had to temporarily close one of our locations and lay off staff due to progressive effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. This situation is extremely difficult for small, independent businesses like ours. It breaks our heart that we had to temporarily suspend operations at our east location, lay off several staff and significantly reduce the hours for others.

Our goals at the onset were to keep as many of our employees working as possible and continue providing healthy meals to our guests who need it most during this time. However, we must also be financially responsible and make the best decisions for our financial health so we can continue providing jobs beyond this crisis into the future. We are now down to 5 staff from 20 rotating a schedule. 

We are launching this campaign as a way to support all of our staff during this time.  We realize the impact this has on their ability to take care of themselves and their families. 100% of the funds donated will be distributed to staff based on the number of hours they would typically work in a week.

We know there are many people out there who love DVS and have had a wonderful experience with our staff and support our mission to provide healthy meals to Detroit communities.
