To all friends of Jake Escano,
The funds raised for this campaign is for our dear friend Jake and his family. The funds will assist in Jake’s family daily expenses for welfare and emergencies.
Jake’s wife is a stay at home mother caring for their toddler son with special needs. Living also with Jake is his college twin daughters from first marriage and a highschool stepdaughter. His eldest son from his first marriage is now serving the US Navy too.
Jake was just recently diagnosed with Leukemia in July 2017. He went through Chemotherapy treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and recently had a Bone marrow stem cell transplant at John Hopkins Hospital.
Jake as most of us know, is a retired US Navy Chief Petty Officer. He served the Navy for 24 years. Since retirement, Jake have worked with the Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense and is currently employed with National Institute of Health. However, due to his medical conditon and treatment, he is currently on Leave Without Pay status. Jake’s friends Volunteer Leave Transfer (Donations) has been exhausted at this time.
Jake submitted his application for Social Security benefits for disability to augment his retirement pay to cover their daily expenses while undergoing treatment for undertermined length of time. My opinion on Jake’s expenses are from vehicle maintenance and fuel for gasoline from his trips to treatments, forecoming school childrens personal needs and education, autistic son’s therapy and upbringing. Additionally, budgeting of finances for family needs, vehicle and household insurance, bills from utilities, house mortgage, car loans, just to name a few.
Jake has been a close friend ours while serving the US Navy. We’ve crossed path several times in our duty stations. We have kept in touched and supported each other when one is in need.
Your donations will be highly appreciated. This is not expected by Jake, but it will help support Jake’s family of four to any unforseen financial circumstances. Also, if you wish to donate leave to Jake, please contact me directly. I can provide NIH point of contact.
