I served as a representative of the Bernie Sanders' campaign to the DNC Platform Committee. It was a crucial part of making Bernie's progressive agenda a part of the Democratic Party's platform.
I am a sociology professor, and served on Bernie's campaign as a policy advisor, and co-founder of Higher Ed for Bernie. Before that, in 2012-2013, I served as a legislative fellow in his Senate office in Washington, DC.
The platform committee met in Orlando, FL on July 8 and 9, where we raised hell over single payer and the TPP, and fought against the hawkish foreign policy in the platform. The Party will present and finalize the platform at the Democratic National Convention from July 25-28.
I am raising funds to offset the costs of attending these important meetings and fighting for Bernie's agenda. Even the smallest contribution is most appreciated!
