Sending Kevin To The Czech Republic

Well this is sudden but I honestly couldn't be more excited to share this opportunity with you. Last week I was contacted by a local Chicago church in need of some extra help on their Czech missions trip. I’m both flattered and humbled that I was even thought of, but there is a catch. I only have month to raise the support necessary to join them. Hence this campaign.
The Short Version
Dates: July 23-August 9th
Where: Pisek, Czech Republic
What: English Camp and week of Follow-up activities with camp attendees.
Why: Building relationships between Czech Christians and nonchristians is a great way of sharing the greatest story ever told with those who may have never heard it before.
How: Only through the grace of God and the prayers & financial support of people like you!
The Long Version
Currently I am living in Chicago, and going through the process of becoming a missionary through the Christian and Missionary Alliance, something I’ve been working on since graduating Moody Bible Institute in 2012. In early June I was asked by one of my former Moody professors to consider helping out a local Church in St. Charles, IL that was looking for additional members for its Czech Republic missions team. Naturally I’ve jumped at the chance to go.
I’ve had a bit of a long history with the Czech Republic and English Camps. Since first going over as a high schooler in 2003 I have had the privilege of spending parts or all of 8 summers in the country and participated in 15 English camps, the last one being in 2012. Those who have asked me I’ve long since said that I’ve felt called to the Czech Republic. Though this doesn’t appear to be the final culmination of this calling, it sure feels like a great refresher.
I am truly humbled to be asked to assist Christ Community Church (St. Charles) with their missions trip. I have never worked directly with the Church or Pisek (The Czech city) but I have met quite a few of them in my many travels and have heard great things. I feel fortunate to be able to assist them in putting on their camp, as well as engage with students the week following camp via a canoe trip with some of the students who will attend the camp.
Now I must acknowledge that it is quite a blessing that I am even able to do this trip to begin with. Thanks to the tuition free education at Moody I was able to graduate without having to take out ANY loans. Since graduating I have been able to live with some great friends I met while at school and have been able to live and minister in the city paying very low rent and minimizing expenses. It is for these reasons alone that I will be able to not only leave everything behind for two weeks while ministering in the Czech, but also be able to return again without being in financial ruin. Though I am not without a need for help.
This campaign is specifically looking to help me raise support for the plane ticket. Currently these tickets are ranging from $1400 - $2000 depending on how far in advanced they are purchase. So the sooner I am able to raise support the less I’ll actually need to raise. I am currently planning on personally covering the ~$500 amount for in-country costs (camp fee, transportation, food) as I do not want to be a burden on those I am serving, but any additional support raised would go towards defraying these costs, but aren’t necessary.
