Help Our Friend, Cynthia Vossah, Get Better!
With a blink of an eye, life can change in an instant. A change that you never thought "“ nor believe or accept "“ would happen to someone close to you.
Nine months ago, a massive, life-threatening incident happened to our dear friend, Cynthia Vossah. Her body had experienced a pulmonary embolism "“ extensive blood clotting that travelled to her lungs, blocking any blood flow to her heart and oxygen to her brain.
She survived that day. And with the days, weeks and months after "“ with family and friends by her side, along with positive energy and prayers that you\'ve sent from all over the world "“ she is still surviving.
But Cynthia needs your help today.
Cynthia is currently at Toronto Grace Hospital in downtown Toronto, receiving long term care for what her doctors diagnose her as being in a "˜persistent vegetative state' due to extensive and irrevocable brain damage. She\'s not able to talk, laugh or sing. Nor can she move her body to walk, run or dance. And she has to receive her food from a feeding tube.
But there's one thing that the doctors don't see "“ something that both family and friends have witnessed. And that's the beautiful spirit inside her that remains overwhelmingly strong. We've all been blown away by seeing Cynthia's ability to comprehend sometimes complex things and to communicate through different (non-verbal) signs "“ with all odds against her. She continues to beat those odds, fighting to remain in our presence.
She is proof - nothing is impossible.
Starting today and in celebration of Cynthia's upcoming 34th birthday on April 24, 2012, we can collectively help Cynthia improve and become, once again, the healthy, vibrant, vivacious Cynthia we all know she is.
On behalf of Cynthia\'s closest friends and family, we ask all of you to please band together and help make it possible for Cynthia and her family to continue receiving the medical care and rehabilitation treatments needed to improve Cynthia's condition.
Please be the angels for Cynthia, her mom and sister. Open your hearts (and wallets) during this time. Any little bit helps.
Whether it is in person, on Facebook, through phone calls or text/bbm messages "“ we sincerely thank you for continuing to show your love, support and prayers to Cynthia. She is here with us, not only because of the grace of God, but thanks to all of you.
We love you Cynthia. We are all here for you, by your side, to help you pull through this. And we are patiently waiting for the day when you can tell us for yourself that you are back with a vengeance - ready to take on the world again! J
