Cujo's New Album - Rise

It's been almost a year and a half since I recorded my last album, and I've been unable to quell the constant flow of lyrics and inspiration that have barraged me over the course of that time! It's become clear to me that now is the time to get back in the booth to record the 15+ tracks that I have ready to go.

I received such a gracious outpouring of support for my last album and a truly uplifting amount of belief and resonance with my message. To get it done last time around I squeezed everything out of my surroundings; from an incredibly generous offer by a friend to make available his home studio and production talents, to using my work printer to print up album inserts, to scrounging up used jewel cases on craigslist...

And it was truly a valuable experience. It was fun, and it fit the nature of the project - an experimental jab in the dark to find out what this artform meant to me. I can tell you now after putting on numerous shows, developing new material, and speaking to the people who come to hear me: Hip-Hop and Poetry have come to shape and define my life and aspirations.

However, this time I really want to do it right from start to finish. I've put in the work hours refining my words, studying the beats, and perfecting my delivery, but now what I need is money to pay the professionals who have the expertise that I do not possess to polish my product and get it out to the people.

Literal is a heavy word for an artist working in the medium of language and syntax, but it LITERALLY means the world to me to have the support of friends, family, acquaintences, and strangers in the pursuit of this journey towards the proliferation of knowledge, education, awareness, and hope among the people.


In February of 2016 I'll be stepping into the chapel to enter my thoughts, fears, hopes and prayers into the record - with the confidence that they won't fall on deaf ears. If you've made it to the end of this, my love for you is boundless and I am eternally greatful. Thank you!
