Cru vs. Retinoblastoma
Donation protected
This sweet little boy is my nephew, Cru Silva. A few days ago, he was diagnosed with “Retinoblastoma,” a rare eye cancer affecting 1 in 20,000 children each year. With no treatment options available in Hawaii, he and his parents, Shane and Janelle, will have to fly to Stanford's Byers Eye Institute in Palo Alto, California to receive treatment. Cru will have to undergo various tests and exams under anesthesia to evaluate the severity of his condition, where they will then determine a treatment plan specifically for him.
Though we have positive thoughts for quick treatment options and a speedy recovery, we are unsure right now of his prognosis and how long he’ll have to be away from home and his big brother, Blaze. We appreciate all of the love and continued support for Cru and his family! We’re hoping and praying for a smooth transition and for Cru to return back to Maui, cancer free!
