Dominican Republic Chiro Outreach

I am currently in my fourth and final year as a chiropractic intern at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Canada. I am one of 12 lucky interns who has been selected to travel to the Dominican Republic from March 31 - April 12, 2017 to participate in a chiropractic treatment outreach.

This outreach abroad is an opportunity for me to participate in an international learning experience and provide chiropractic care to people in need in a developing nation. It gives me a chance to apply my diagnostic and treatment skills that I have been developing over the past four years at CMCC to a variety of patients and conditions. Most patients receive little to no medical care outside of their interaction with us on this trip.

I have been blessed to participate in service learning opportunities in the past, where I have witness the tremendous impact that volunteer groups can have in rural communities in developing nations. I am so honoured to be able to bring my passion for chiropractic and health care to the people of the Dominican Republic.

Four years of chiropractic education and four years of undergraduate education have not been easy on my wallet. I'm looking for a little bit of help to subsidize part of the cost of my trip, as the majority of it is coming from what is left of my line of credit :)

The breakdown of my personal costs for the trip are as follows:

- Flight/accommodation/food/insurance: $1780
- Medication and immunizations: $300
