Cancer is No Match for Craig!!!

Donation protected

Life has a funny way of throwing curve balls at you, one day we are celebrating the Hubbard family's new home in Round Rock and the upcoming excitement of sending their first born off to college and the next day we are discussing  Craig's brand new battle with cancer.  Leading up to Craig's colonoscopy, which we all kind of thought of as routine, we were giving him a hard time about being 50 and all the fun that comes with that. When we got the call from Jenny the day of his colonoscopy we were all dumb-founded by the results. Ask anyone that knows Craig and they would tell you that Craig is one of the healthiest and fittest guys we know. Who else does squats while brushing their teeth or randomly drops and does 50 push ups just for fun? The results of Craig's colonoscopy was shocking - they found a tumor and it was cancerous. The Texas Oncology team immediately went into action to rid him of his stage 3 Rectal Cancer ! They set a year long plan for Craig. Phase 1 was to do radiation with a slow chemo drip. Phase 2 was to have surgery to remove the tumor and put in an ileostomy bag. Phase 3 is 8 chemo treatments in 4 months. Phase 4 is to have a final surgery to remove the bag and port.  Craig has powered through Phase 1 and 2 like a champion! Today is the start of phase 3 - the first of the 8 treatments. As I write this he is peacefully napping during his 2 hour chemo drip. He will leave today with a chemo bag that he has to wear for 48 hours and then repeat the process in 2 weeks. Craig is an amazingly strong soul. So happy and positive and to know him is to love him. As one can imagine, the diagnosis and treatments are the biggest battle but along with that comes expensive treatments, medications, procedures, etc. With three active teenagers, a brand new house and now this, the Hubbard's could really use a helping hand up!!! We all have struggles and we never know when we might be faced with tough times, now is one of those times for our dear friend Craig and his family! Any donation big or small would be so greatly appreciated. There is no amount too small! And if you just can't help financially at this time, we ask for your prayers and to please share this link with your family friends. Check back for updates!
