Hello, everyone,
First of all, I hope this horrible pandemic hasn't impacted your lives and the lives of your family and friends too much. I'd love to hear how you are doing, as it's been a while since I haven't spoken with many of you. Here in the United State, as I'm sure you know, things have been bad with the COVID-19, in particular within the families of some friends.
As you might remember, I worked over the last years trying to develop The Future is Today, a social venture that supports refugees in Uganda and Rwanda.
However, life in the Kyaka 2 Refugee Settlement (Uganda) obviously continues, with the coronavirus having impacted the lives of their 100,000 inhabitants quite a bit, especially because of the consequences of a very harsh lockdown that prevents people from working and earning their daily income: they cannot buy basic items like food, medicines or sanitary pads, and some pregnant women even have to walk to their hospitals for the deliveries of their babies, in some cases with dire consequences.
I am starting the fundraising campaign to raise donations for our organization. This campaign will aimed at helping our two projects to fight against the negative impact of the COVID-19 and the lockdown. Funds for this campaign go to the Stream of FTF Foundation, led by Pastor Shadarake (a great man that helps the most vulnerable Ugandans and refugees in Kyaka 2).
We are here targeting $5000; we would appreciate your assistance in pushing this forward to at least 80% or 90% within 20 days of the campaign. We can do it!!
The second reason for our campaign, we want to make Soap to fight COVID-19 in Rwanda Bujyesera.
Funds for this campaign, led by Patrick (a great person and entrepreneur, who has created with other refugees this organization to mentor entrepreneur refugees, with great results in the communities.
We would ask you to donate any amount you can (even small amounts impact a lot of people) or, if you cannot donate at this point, I would appreciate if you can share it with friends, family, co-workers, and social media.
I truly appreciate your help in pushing these two figures to 100%. It is well worth it.
