Scott Cooper: Campus Missionary

Tax deductible
Hello, I hope God is blessing you in your life. I would like to take a moment to share about an opportunity I have to serve as a missionary at the WTAMU campus. I am a campus missionary to West Texas A&M University mentoring future leaders who mentor future leaders, overseeing small groups that grow and split into other small groups bringing the love of Christ and fruits of His Spirit to people who would never think about praying let alone coming to a charismatic worship service. Meeting people where they are, on our campus, by the power and grace of God draw them in, and rethink what they know about God, church, and Christians during a time that many walk away from God let alone encounter Him; college.

For the last six years (2009 to 2015) I have been a student missionary & campus leader through the Wesley Student Ministry on WTAMU’s campus in that time I have:

·         Overseen 3 Bible Studies that started from 1 that I lead

·         Changed the atmosphere and reputation of the worst hall on campus

·         Mentored 6 young men, 3 of which are mentoring young men of their own

·         Disciple leaders in spiritual formations, leadership, evangelism, & small group development

In the Spring of 2015, my senior year at WT, I faced a fork in the road. Should I devote myself to full-time campus missionary work or pursue a job as a juvenile detention counselor? Upon “wrestling with God” I have decided to follow the path to become a campus missionary vocationally. Following my dream, not letting fear and finances dictate my future I am ready to commit to drawing the unchurched and unchristian, like who I was prior to November 22, 2009, to Christ. I believe in the revival coming to WT’s campus; training people where they are and building up the next generation of leaders. Let us work together to keep this fire of the Lord burning on WT’s campus.

I have been invited to join the mission staff at the WT Wesley. This is not a paid position, so I am building a team of monthly supporters just as missionaries around the world do and would love for you to consider being a part of this movement. All donations are tax deductible gifts. Checks should be made out to the WT Wesley Foundation with "Scott Cooper Internship" in the memo line.
