Medical funds for Conrado Ortiz

It is with saddened hearts that my siblings and I are reaching out to inform our family and friends that on Sunday November 19th, our dad had a massive stroke while in Washington Pennsylvania. He was there working for Mc Power in an effort to restore electricity to the area residents.

Currently, he is still in the hospital in Pittsburgh because his progress to recovery took another blow with a minor stroke that has damaged his spine. He is still on a ventilator and unresponsive.

Our mother has been at his side now for three weeks, and overseeing that our dad is getting the best care possible.

Our desire is to get the ventilator removed so they can do the tracheotomy, insert a feeding tube, along with all the other required devices to get him back home to family.

He will have to be transported by ambulance and staff to a step-down facility in hopes of recovery.

The company our dad was working for will not cover the cost of any of his medical expenses because he was contracted labor.

Therefore, we are humbling ourselves before you with this sincere request; that in some way, some of you will be to help us with the growing medical expenses. The ambulance ride home we are being told can be upwards to 4 thousand dollars, and is not paid by insurance. It will be an up-front cost.

Living has a lesson to teach each one of us. As people, we will at some point in our lives need the help of others to get us through the heartaches in life.
