Compassion In ACTion

This summer I've been given the opportunity to work in Project Rescue's Homes of Hope for girls and boys as they fight against the injustice of sexual slavery and seek restoration for these women and children. My church began it's partnership with Project Rescue in 2009 and has since then funded the opening of two children's homes in Delhi, India.This summer it is my hope to join a team of six volunteering at these Homes of Hope. While we are there we will have a chance to play with the children, teach the children, and give their overworked staff some much needed rest and help. We'll also have the opportunity to learn more about how Project Rescue operates in it's fight against sex slavery. It is my desire to be able to teach others when I come back about how active this social issue is not only India but also in the United States and how we can be helping the victims of sex trafficking, However, I can't do it alone. First of all please join me in praying those whose lives continue to be wrecked by sex slavery and those who fight for them. Pray that the Lord would go before our team preparing the hearts and minds of those we come and contact with. As well as safety, provision, and unity for our team. Secondly, consider partnering with us as we go out to meet the needs of these children so that they might have a brighter and better tomorrow. For many of us slavery is a thing of the past, something we read about in history books, but for millions slavery is still a reality. Their freedom is something we are called to fight for. As you can imagine, a trip like this is not cheap. I need to raise a total of around $3,500. About $500 of that has already been raised and several others have made pledges to contribute. $2500 of this needs to be raised by May 10th. I wholeheartedly believe that I am called to the task ahead. Will you consider joining me in the fight for freedom? I will be grateful for any contributions made - no matter how big or small. In addition to working with Project Rescue I am currently going through the application process with a YWAM base in Ludiana, Punjab. If I am accepted I will need to raise an additional $1,500 to continue working in India til December. I will be enlisted in a a bilingual program in both English and Hindi and doing outreach in the slums of Ludhiana and surrounding villages. Punjab is Northeast of Delhi and borders Pakistan. Ludhiana is currently one of the fastest growing cities in the world and is populated primarily by Sikhs, Muslims, and Hindus. Many of whom have never heard the gospel. Please pray with me that the Lord would open doors to doing ministry in Punjab if it pleases Him and for barriers and obstacles to be removed.
