Comfort Backpacks for Foster Kids

Operation Comfort Pack is dedicated to providing an easier transition for those who are in the foster care program. By donating backpacks filled with necessary items to DCYF of Rhode Island, we are helping to make that first night feel much less stressful. Most of the time, when a child is removed from their home and put into a safer one,they bring nothing with them. The first night they sleep in whatever they were wearing. These backpacks will bring some comfort to them. There will be pajamas, a stuffed animal, books, toiletries, toys, card games, school supplies, clothing and other items that will make the transition a little easier. This organization is run by three high school students, and it is a project very close to their hearts. I have stepped in to help them raise funds and will purchase the items that are most needed. Their first delivery is February 28th and then again in May. We would like to get as many backpacks as possible, and for that we need your help.
