Heather and Adam have been so brilliant to watch these last four days. I've been stunned and quieted by their partnership and their focus. I've seen a Mother and a Father gracefully communicate, love, and function during this unfathomable time. I've also watched as friends, family, and even strangers have rallied in prayer and care for this family of four. It's been a big four days.
Heather gave birth to two beautiful girls on Friday, September 28th. My nieces, Collins June and Lennox Carolina Thomas, arrived earlier than expected, but have been fighting the big fight. The girls are in NICU with the best of the best who are monitoring and working to give them every chance at this big adventure called Life.
Although the gals have started their long journey here at the hospital, Heather will be discharged from the hospital within the next day or two. The thought of leaving here without the girls is heart-wrenching. As Lennox and Collins are monitored, we are living their journeys day by day, and sometimes moment by moment alongside them. This transition has many thoughts and questions whizzing about. My effort here is to help them remain close to the girls and to help ease the hardships they are going to face in the months to come.
Many people have asked how they can help. We've been grateful for the outpouring of prayers and vibes that have been wrapped around them. Please keep those prayers and thoughts lifted. If you’re still looking for ways to help, we’re raising funds to assist Adam and Heather as they work through this next chapter of Lennox and Collins' journey.
We're looking to raise funds for my sister and brother-in-law to use for hotel accommodations, transportation to and from the girls, groceries, and for other expenses that might pop up during the girls' stay in NICU. If you feel led to extend assistance in this way, we as a family thank you.
