Colin's Dream Park

Colin Anderson and his friends looked forward to their Friday night skate sessions"”a time to practice their sport and perfect their ollies and one-eighties. Every Friday however, they faced the same problem: where to practice. Baseball players have their diamonds and runners have their tracks, but our skaters are left to search for makeshift ramps and rails to ride.
On February 8th, 2013, the search for a perfect skate spot led Colin Anderson and his friends across our busy state highway. On their way home, Colin was struck and killed by a passing truck, just two months before his thirteenth birthday.
In addition to being a skilled skater, Colin was a center safety on his football team. He was agile. He was quick. Most importantly, Colin was aware of his surroundings both on and off the field. Even though Colin was stacked with strength and finesse, his safety was always at risk without designated borders for him to skate within.
We know the kids of Orange City will skate no matter what. Join us in our efforts to raise funds for a local skatepark, a safe place for our skaters to practice their sport and follow their passion. Help us build what he always wanted: Colin's Dream Park.
