Cole's Stem Cell Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Cole Stainke has been suffering with severe Crohn's Disease for over 8 years. On November 20th, 2013, Cole was accepted into Dr. Richard K. Burt's HSCT Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. This procedure will allow Cole to have the potential to lessen his Crohn's Disease through stem cells either obtained by a donor match (his sister Kelli), or through donated umbilical cord stem cells. These stem cells will allow his body to produce a new, potentially illness-free immune system. The result could mean Cole having the opportunity to live a disease-free life. The transplant is expensive, costing $150,000. Insurance may not cover the procedure. Cole will also face the burden of high co-pays and multiple traveling expenses, including airfare. The procedure must be paid for in advance, including all co-pays, so without the proper funding Cole will not be allowed to go forward with the transplant. He is tentatively scheduled to have the transplant in early in 2014. If you would like to help Cole in his journey to get healthy, please consider donating to his Stem Cell Transplant Fund. If you are unable to donate funds at this time, please feel free to leave a message of encouragement. All support, monetary or not, is greatly appreciated! http://www.stemcell-immunotherapy.com/about.html
