Funeral Expenses for Cole Knight

Donation protected
With great sadness, I write this tribute to our friend Cole Knight, who lost his battle with cancer early this morning, Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
He was diagnosed with uncurable carcinoid cancer in 2014. Last week, they found a tumor on his liver, and he was suffering from pancreatitis. He passed quicker than anticipated, so it has come as a shock to Barbara and his family.

For those of you who knew Cole, you know he loved living life to the fullest. He freely shared his unwavering faith in God to anyone who would listen - either in person or via videos. It is what sustained him through the many rough patches he and his family have experienced, especially during the past three years. His love and devotion to his family and his animals were widely known, as was his love of wrestling (I mean you'd have to love wrestling to be a referee, right?), fishing, Tex-Mex food, and a good joke. His laugh was contagious.

To Jim and I, he was a friend indeed. I called him the Mini-Red because he had red hair like Jim. During their time together at WSAV in Savannah, they formed a bond rooted in their love of all things Texas - the Cowboys, the food, and the culture. Their friendship remained until the very end. Jim talked to Cole on Saturday night and was able to tell him how much he loved him.

Because Cole has been in and out of the hospital a lot over the past three years, things have been difficult for the Knight family. Although most of Cole's adult life was spent in the television industry, he found his true calling, I believe, shortly before he was diagnosed with cancer. Cole became a certified medical assistant - something he worked hard to obtain - and joined his beloved wife, Bobbie, a nurse, in the medical field. He had gotten a job working at a pain clinic, something he absolutely loved. Then the bottom fell out with the diagnosis, followed by multiple surgeries and hospital stays.

As a final tribute to our friend and family member, we need to rally around his family - not only with our prayers, but through our financial assistance at this difficult time. They need our help in paying for Cole's funeral. That's why I've established this GoFundMe account. Cole helped all of us - maybe not financially - but in other ways throughout his life, through his caring, his laughter, and his prayers. Now it's our turn to help him - by taking away some of the financial stress for Cole's funeral from Barbara's shoulders.

Please help by making a donation today - no matter how small. And say a prayer when you do for Bobbie and the family.

Rest in peace, Good Buddy. We've got this! You are loved and will be missed, Cole Knight.
