Colby Carlson Family Fundraiser

Story

A benefit is being held to financially help Laura Carlson and Scott Carlson due to Colby’s recent diagnosis of Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Congestive Heart Failure.  This is a devastating diagnosis and has turned his life upside down. Colby is a very smart and active 14 year old boy. He loves to swim competitively, run cross country and 5K's. In his down time he rides his BMX bike and enjoys skateboarding. He is your typical kid when it comes to video games. He loves the Seattle Seahawks and his favorite player is Russell Wilson. He is also an avid Hawkeye fan.Because he cannot take the chance of any physical exertion on his heart, he cannot continue his sports, nor can he swim, bike, skateboard, run – all the things young boys love to do. On May 20 Colby was been added to the heart transplant waiting list with a 1A status. Because his heart continued to fail, Colby endured open heart surgery on May 26th to have a left ventricular assist device placed in his heart. His recovery is going incredibly well. There are so many unanswered questions for the future and they are taking this one day at a time. There but for the grace of God.... This family is facing a tremendous fight – I know we can all pull together to relieve their financial burden so they can concentrate on Colby's health. Please join us by coming to the event, donating auction items, contributing to the account, etc.  There are also T-shirts you can order to show your support. They can be shipped directly to you. http://lvadman.powergrafxinc.com/If you cannot contribute, your prayers are appreciated.
