There's still time to donate! Camp Sign 2018 is just around the corner and we are so excited to see how these funds are going to make kids happy in Clyde's honor. And how happy what we're doing would make Clyde! Not only will these funds be used at Camp Sign, but we also have some ideas on how extend the longevity of your gracious donations. We'll keep you updated. And...stand by for photos between August 4-11. You just might see some shots of some happy campers experiencing how Clyde's memory lives on!!

Our dear friend and Camp Sign Alumni, Clyde Boyd, Jr., passed away recently after a long battle with cancer. We all know Clyde was a passionate individuall and we want to honor his memory in that way. Help us to help Clyde's spirit live on through Camp Sign!
Clyde was passionate about so many things in life. One of those passions was Camp Sign, where he was a staff member for many years. Clyde embodied everything about the camp experience...FUN, kindness, silliness, friendship, feeling supported, feeling loved, community...just to mention a few.
We, the Camp Sign alumni, would like to honor Clyde's memory by establishing the Clyde Boyd, Jr. Scholarship to benefit deserving Deaf/Hard of Hearing children in Texas who might not otherwise be able to attend Camp Sign. We would love for those kiddos to have the same welcoming and loving camp experience that Clyde was so much a part of.
Often times a Deaf/Hard of Hearing child feels isolated during the summer, or might be the only Deaf child in the family. Sometimes the only Deaf child in their immediate community! Camp Sign is a time for these kids to be around peers and adults who are like them, and to feel that sense of community and family. To experience the beauty of the Deaf community, see the richness of their language, and so.much.more! It's a time to be seen and known and engaged in FUN! Clyde Boyd embodied all of those things and what better way to remember him than to send kids to Camp Sign!
And we just can't say enough about Clyde...those of us who had the pleasure to work with him those summers adored him for his calmness in craziness and his love for everyone around him. Said simply, Clyde was incredible. One of Clyde's Camp Sign buddies described Clyde as this... an incredible teacher, counselor, interpreter, friend and brother. He spent his whole life helping others and making people smile and laugh. When Clyde was around his spirit filled you.
Clyde's love and kind spirit will always fill us. Said simply, It was such a blessing to know and to be loved by Clyde.
Camp Sign takes place one week every August and is open to any Deaf/Hard of Hearing child in the state of Texas. ALL funds raised will be MATCHED by a generous donor! Help us make the Camp Sign experience available to deserving childern in loving memory of Clyde Boyd, Jr.!
