Clean Water for PR

As Maria passed through Puerto Rico, it was apparent that it would be a long road to recovery.  The need for clean drinking water is growing.  Currently, clean drinking water is not available to about 60% of families in Puerto Rico.  We need to help!  

My brother, sister-in-law, family and friends are working in the island to make drinking water accessible in remote towns in Puerto Rico.  They have started visiting heavily affected areas to scope the need. They are ready to start working in these remote areas but they need our help.  The PR government has recommended boiling water, but without electricity and fuel this becomes a hardship.  With some research, it has been identified that using a combination of filters and chlorine tabs, families can obtain clean drinking water, safe for people to drink.  The team in the island will go to towns across the island installing filters and educating families on how to use and maintain them.

Our family and friends, located outside of the island, can help as well.  We can send filters and chlorine tabs to the island.
