My name is Claire Murphy. I am 13 years old, and am a classical ballerina studying dance at South Valley Dance Arts in Morgan Hill. Dance has been an influential part of my life for several years. Much of my time is committed to dance, and I still love it just as much as I did when I first started.
This year I have been provided with an exciting opportunity to participate in a dance program called "Ballet Magnificat!" in Mississippi. This program offers a great chance to experience my art form and grow in my Christian Faith. I have been accepted to "Ballet Magnificat's!" summer intensive two-week program for this coming summer. As you can imagine, embarking on this trip depends on financial support. The program fee alone is $1,780, and includes all tuition, housing, and most meals. This does not include airfare, personal expenses, and supplies. My fundraising goal is to cover all expenses, which will amount to approximately $6,000. I have been pursuing working opportunities to offset costs, but this alone will not cover all of my expenses. Unfortunately, my immediate family was affected by breast cancer over the past year, which has made fundraising necessary in order for me to attend. I am asking for you to consider helping by making a donation towards my fundraising goal. Your contributions will help me fulfill my dream of dancing, further my knowledge of classical ballet, and help me grow in my Christian faith.
